15 Aug 2011 : DC – the tour continues.
So I feel that I need to give you a taste of what my poor brother went through while visiting DC. To start off, check your watch. If the time is earlier than 5am, then continue reading. If, however, the time is later than 5am, please set your alarms for 4:45am tomorrow morning. When the alarm goes off, you can continue reading. Now – have you had any coffee yet today? If not, please continue reading, however if you have, please revert to setting your alarm, and try again.
Right – at this point, your eyes should still be battling to focus, and your brain should still be in standby mode. That means we are ready to go and photograph the sunrise – yipeee …..? Come on!! Feel the excitement! In preparation for our morning activity, you should have several infomercials recorded on your iPod. You can now play them back at triple speed – making sure to take in all the salient points (you will be quizzed later).
That’s probably how he felt for the past few weeks with me dragging him around to see the sights. I did hear that his doctor says he should be okay with some extensive therapy, but that he should avoid sunrises, and try to stay away from things that go “Click”.
Seriously though – it is the best time to get really good shots. Not only is the light fantastic, but when else do you have a national memorial all to yourself (and your psycho brother).
