Morrisville, North Carolina based artist, Patricia Buchanan, made her first venture into art through her grandmother, Gertrude, who taught her the art of embroidery. That initial step into handcrafted art fueled a continuing joy from creating beautiful things and an ever-increasing appreciation of the beauty around her. Lifelong satisfaction from the creative process led to sewing, painting, wire wrapping and finally beading with inspiration being drawn from the glamorous films of the 40’s and 50’s and from nature itself. Patricia's work is characterized by attention to detail and the use of fine sterling silver or 14kt gold filled findings, genuine gemstones and Swarovski crystals in the completion of her pieces. Her work has been exhibited in the Trumbull Art Gallery in Warren, Ohio and currently, the Cary Gallery of Artists in Cary, North Carolina as well as Treasures of the Earth and Frank Cox Productions gem shows.
